Quite a few things have gone wrong with this series. The pacing of the storyline is quite slow. There are soo many fillers. The story and the characters lack depth. The villains lack the evil vibe and do not have a proper background story like the Akatsuki. 225 episodes have passed by and I still don't like the protagonist. He fails to inspire. Also, he has no clear goal. The humour is pretty dumb. There's hardly any interesting character(Amado is fine) . The power scaling has made all side characters almost useless. Unlike Naruto this series fails to keep the audience involved. But I think things have improved a bit over the last episodes. I hope Kishimoto fixes all these shortcomings. Clearly Kodachi deserved to be fired. If you really wana watch it just skip the fillers. It is not that bad.
