The tones of violence and abandonment throughout is really quite chilling, yet somehow also funny at times. It's certainly a page turner, and a really enjoyable read.

A wonderfully written tragic love story set in the nightmare of the troubles in the 70's. The spectre of violence and trouble hangs uneasily around every relationship and interaction in the book. An excellent read.

This is an excellent book! Very well written from the different characters perspectives. It keeps you interested as to why these characters are the way they are, all the way through to the fast paced ending. The nomination for the Booker prize was well deserved.
