I’ve been waiting 2 years for this film & now that it’s out, I can’t stop watching it!!! I love Gab and all her work, so I’m proud of her producing this film- the book was hot! Now, two words- Keith Powers. This is HIS film. His voice, face, clothing, expressions, line delivery, kissing scenes, smiles, frowns…he is a lead actor for sure- his appeal is just ridiculous. This adaptation wasn’t perfect, but to see this book come to life, with such a great cast/director - why complain!? The NYC backdrops, fashionable fabrics, music, intimacy, colors, relationship challenges, friendship support, bad choices, losing/ gaining- Gab’s character had some real things to deal with. Maybe the audience wanted more dramatic and consequential parts? I just wanted more scenes of the couple “hiding” their relationship (I enjoyed watching them together) It may have been “rushed” to some, but I didn’t mind. I actually get bored with long scenes and stretched dialogue.
