There are layers to this movie that some people may not be picking up. This is a masterpiece of a movie. The layers of what is actually going on in the boy’s life as well as the powerful message this film is trying to convey to the viewers can be difficult to follow without context of history. The boy’s father for example was in charge of the factories that were producing the Zero airplanes that were used in the attack on Pearl Harbor. While it was not depicted in the film, IRL those factories were bombed. There is a message within this film that might have been directed at his own grandson, or it could have been intended for the SG fans, but the world needs it right now. This is probably one of the greatest movies ever made. I wish the low reviewers could see this through open eyes.
