When I first played this game, it changed my life. I played for ten hours straight; I furnished the most beautiful course I could imagine. Delta Dunes, played out among a forking river. A par 77 beauty, containing 3 par 6 holes. The variety of the course ranged from the conventional and traditional, to the exotic and exhilarating. On one hole you can be teeing off from a beautiful Japanese garden onto a solitary island green, and on the next hole zigzagging right and left around a mountainous rock formation on a 700 yard Par 6. I felt as if I had an epiphany during my initial play through of this game, almost a spiritual awakening. I began having my own personal sweeping visions of a golf course in the real world, hewn from the land by my own hand. I have commenced research into coursebuilding; reading the works of noted course architect Dr. Hurdzan, and exploring the benefits and resources of a membership with the GCBAA (Golf Course Builders Association of America). I have become entangled this newfound passion, and intend to pursue this pursuit. All thanks to a little known Golf Tycoon game from 2002. Thank you Sid Meier.
