I thoroughly enjoyed both Season 1 and Season 2, and think the criticism of Season 2 is a little unfair. Yes, there are several plots that are hanging out there that I did not care for much, such as the foray to Paris and brothers involvement with the CIA. And yes, throughout Season 2 you want to scream "stop being so spoiled!!!!"
and "What about the children????!!!" to Midge. But, that is the character-- Jewish rich girl from the Upper East Side (or west side?) who grew up in a world of appearances and has always been buffered from reality. But, under it all, there is a sweetness to the character, and, if you make it to the final episode of Season 2, Midge begins to realize her selfishness and it's effect on every one around her. I found Season 2 to be as purely entertaining as Season 1: not thrilling, not educational, nor suspenseful; just plain fun. And, cleaver with a small amount of complexity as you get to know the characters more.
