What a missed opportunity! The designs and animation are great! Too bad the director/co-writer obviously doesn’t have kids because the story is tone-deaf. I have daughters so I’m comfortable with the main concept. It’s the acceptable characterization of 13-year olds lying to their parents, going to a concert on their own, and overall bad writing that’s the problem. It could’ve been a great movie…if it had a different story, better plot, and was written by someone with more experience and who understood the parents side. Too bad. My daughters agree with me and we will never watch it a second time.
