Tldr: There is a high possibility that this will leave you feeling empty and irritated and wanting those 2 hours back. First off, this is an A24 movie. I was not aware of that prior to agreeing to view this movie or I would have declined. True to A24 style, their cinematographers were given too much creative freedom and they forgot to piece together a plot that kept the audience captivated or even made sense. Even though this does seem to stay true to the original poem as many "intellectuals" have mentioned, the original story must have left much to the imagination as there was little discernable character development. The different story archs lacked any kind of substance and contributed very little to the overall story line other than adding opportunities for extra long cuts that were beautiful but completely unecessary. They definitely didn't evoke any kind of emotional response aside from some people deciding to nap. There are some people that may have enjoyed this movie but they may or may not be as pretentious as their reviews. For most people this movie will be too unorganized and slow to keep entertained.
