The homosexual storyline seems to override the plot in some places. It felt 50/50 storyline, 50% enigma machine 50% homosexuality storyline. Because of that and I suppose to keep it within some time frame, it failed to go into much of the impact of the breaking of the code. The actual events that were altered etc until the very end when Joan (Keira knightly) fills in some of the blanks. I was expecting more of a war story, than a social commentary. It was, however, thrilling, but I wouldn't watch it again.
