Helen Weir

I am a latecomer to this series. I’ve always loved the books and was concerned by some of the reviews that I wouldn’t like this. However, I’ve been pleasantly surprised. The production values and acting are of great quality. Some may find the treatment of the characters jarring but I have enjoyed the fresh take. The world feels more real and the character flaws more relatable than sometimes Tolkien managed to capture. Sorry if you disagree, that’s just my take. The world building is done with care and an affection to the source material. Bravo Amazon! I think this is worthy and will age like fine wine so that even some of its detractors may come to enjoy it eventually.
