The title of this book catches you off guard. You expect it will be about butterflies and rainbows instead it tells one of the most gruesome descriptions of the nazi regime. And at the end of this book you will realise that you should also be the happiest person on earth.

I cam into this book after reading 12 rules for life. The first book felt simpler and more impactful to me. This book, The first few chapters seems more like a deep philosophy. Im not saying thats a bad thing. but it would be a bit out of touch to the less philosophical mind such as myself. Anyway it was a good book. If you take the time to understand what JP is trying to say then it will do you a lot of good.

A great book teaching us to view our money differently. money is not just about numbers and formulas. Money is more about different people from different backgrounds all interacting with each other. When we look at money this way we can understand that the best investment plan is not about the highest ROI or The best risk averse. The best investment plan is a plan that we agree with deep in our hearts and we can stick to.

A key message that I get from this book is the rules as simple as they seem, but at the same time it could be misleading to say these rules apply to only a small scope in life. Was expecting a somewhat productivity or self help book. This book is geared more towards philosophy and self development. The writer does who good job in broadening the scope of each rule and then returns to its main message in the end. One might say that the writer pushed his right wing ideologies a bit too much in this book. but its his book. He explained his thinking, we chose to listen. As in rule 9, Assume whoever you're listening to knows something you don't.

This book conveys only one message, Get 7-9 hours of continual sleep each night. But it does so in way that is compelling and well thought out. The writer who is clearly an exert in the field does no shy way from giving us study upon study of clear cut reasons on why we need to sleep 7 to 9 hours a day. The author also highlights the dire pandemic of sleep deprivation of all walks of life. In short, after you read this book. You will almost certainly be compelled to sleep 7 to 9 hours each day.
