I read the book this year and was utterly enchanted by the storyline and the characters. I finished the book during my final exams when i was supposed to be studying but i just couldn`t put it down and completed it in a matter of days, hiding under the covers and pretending to sleep. Thus,when i heard that there was a tv show being made on it, it was definitely something to look forward to in 2023.Finally,i have finished watching it and i am deeply satisfied. The way that i imagined it,it definitely exceeded my expectations.Sure,there were a few changes made in the tv show as compared to the book but i have no complaints. The director and the production designer understood the job and have done justice to this beautiful story. A big round of applause to the editor because everything felt connected even though it is stated in different timelines and through individual point of views. Marie-laure and Werner are avid dreamers and are an embodiment of hope and everything good about this world. The protrayal of these beautiful characters is expertly done by Aria Mia Loberti and Louis Hofmann. They really brought the characters to life through their art. It is a must watch for anybody who loves a heart-warming story. Set against the backdrop of the second world war,it focuses on the importance of family,staying true to oneself and connections to past memories in confusing and troubled times. It really is a classic.
