TimeShift (2007, XOne | PC - Steam) - 5/10
Unimpressive sci-fi shooter, the only gimmick of which is rewinding time mechanic This mechanic, however, is implemented as ingenuously as possible and does nothing interesting. Add to this the hideous game direction, boring arsenal, stupid AI, the lack of interesting game situations, absent soundtrack, poor environmental design (you can see something relatively interesting only on the first levels of the game), a ridiculous storyline, eye bleeding picture and difficulties with running the game on modern hardware, and you will get a game that I can't recommend even to the biggest fans of the genre.
I played TimeShift on release, but dropped it very quickly. I’ve remember its destructibility (way too restricted, as it turned out to be), dismemberment (extremely primitive), and decent graphics (which rather indicates that more beautiful games simply didn’t run on my PC back in the day). I used to think that I had dropped the game because I wasn't particularly fond of first person shooters at the time, but now I realize that the game itself was as mediocre as possible.
