A confusing pitch black mess. Graphics are nice when you can see them. Level design is baffling, boss battles are baffling. At some points in the game you simply can not even see what is going on (brightness cranked up). I'll hold my hands up I'm a casual when it comes to gaming which is why I found this game so deeply frustrating. I had to Google so much. How to defeat Cynthia was a big one. No idea about the hidden generator just wasted ages dodging and wasting ammo. In the end I completed this thing out of pure rage. Parts where you are running from the dark presence in the wellness centre and I had no idea which way to go. That part where you had to put the photos of Alice in the shoe box for some reason. They just straight up told you exactly what had to be done. This was made for non smarts like me. Just do this. The case board mechanic zzz. I don't think I'll even play an Alan wake game again.

The reason I cancelled Game Pass. Load screens at every turn. What a shame.
