Hernan Diaz’s writing is genius but perhaps not for everyone. As I read Trust, I had to put it down. I then picked it up again. I do like the overall subject of the novel which is the world of finance leading up to the ‘29 crash and into the 1930’s. But when Trust took a plow twist, the writing and themes evolved into a fascinating story with many types of writing styles. That is when I truly enjoyed the novel.
