Disappointing. This is a favourite play of mine. I was hopeful given the cast, but to be frank both Mr and Mrs Macbeth were too old for the roles. The stylised setting didn't work for me either. I am familiar with the piece and frankly there was no flow, no chemistry. It seemed like a set of sililoquies. Maybe I've been spoiled by the Polanski version which knocked my socks off many years ago . I was not too keen on the recent Fassbender film either Perhaps I'm just a grumpy old fart ( no perhaps about it).
