This will be hard for true believers in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to watch and comprehend. It’s too close for those individuals. But those of us removed from the predominant Utah religion will understand the awkwardness of the Lafferty’s. The belief in divine revelation from practicing and believing “Mormons”. When fundamentalist Church ideas are presented, the change of this family from mainstream doesn’t seem too far of a stretch from mainstream “Mormon” beliefs. The last episode did show some sacred moments in a temple ceremony, but when looking at those from an outside perspective, that line from mainstream to fundamentalist is not a stretch. Overall, if you’re part of the mainstream religion of the Church, you’ll be upset and angry with some of the content. But, it’s an honest portrayal of the mainstream Church in the early ‘80’s. Great job so far!
