The title translates nicely from Swedish to English it's "Smoke Flute". Here at 69 I pleasantly realize I have been listening to and loving Ian's music since 1971. I can only claim that it came to me by accident. I don't recall what album I had actually ordered but Columbia House sent me Aqualung instead. Charmed by the cover and the song names I had to listen to it. Suffice it to say commercial pop radio stations in East Tennessee did not prepare me for the experience. In these 53 years Ian's / Tull's continuity in style, artistry, and emotive composing has never failed to thrill and move me. We've many of us have lived long enough to see our most beloved Rock Musicians attempt to go a distance greater than was possible with sad, embarrassing, and sometimes tragic results. I have every belief and faith that this will not be what is waiting for me on this May 7 at Sony Hall In NYC. My 42 year old son bought these tickets and popped the surprise today. I would reschedule heart surgery to attend.
I vow to sign in here again and let you know how the concert went.
