I enjoy the cast in their other acting endeavors. They are all very talented. I wanted to like this show. I thought it would be like the sitcom One on One, but 2021 version. This is not something I can allow my preteen/teen kids to watch. It does not exhibit good parental-child/teen relationships. For example the family psychiatrist was trying to have sex with the dad at the session he was having with his daughter. Everyone in the house smoking weed, including the grandfather. Having sex talk or references in front of the child. The teen lying to her father with no consequences, etc. Also, it makes a mockery of the Black church and highlights many negative aspects of the tragic false prophets and ministers we see today. I am only on episode 2. I will see if it gets better. Again, I wanted to like this sitcom. It is literally embracing every African American negative stereotype/narrative, but instead of uneducated poorer African Americans like we have seen tragically on tv in the past, they are wealthier educated successful African Americans. Almost painting the narrative, that we (African American people) can have money and be successful but still lack morals, respect, and accountability in raising our children properly. This is never okay. This is the narrative others may want to see of us, but this is not how many African American families are. Even single parents under the poverty line have more class than this. My two-cents anyways and I never write reviews. I looked this show up to see if I was being trolled by Netflix.
