I was astounded by Anderson Cooper's introduction to Mark Bradford's work, "Pickett's Charge".
Any visitor to Gettysburg knows that the underlying diorama painting did NOT glorify or celebrate the Confederacy. It celebrated the courage and victory of the Union soldiers who turned back the "high tide" of the Confederacy, and paved the way to Appomattox 2 years later.
As a Pennsylvanian, I have explored Gettysburg and the National Park, and have seen the great Diorama a dozen times. When presented without undertones of a revisionist southern or racial history, it only inspired pride and awe on behalf of those who "gave their last full measure of devotion" to preserve the Union.
Please correct this egregious misstatement.
