I don't even watch tv shows or movies but I saw an edit of this show and started it while on vacation and WHEN I SAY I AM OBSESSED! Not only is this show just overall great and beautifully shot but the plot, the characters, the concepts, the lessons and hidden meanings, the breaking of stereotypes, THE REPRESENTATION, all make this show (in my humble opinion) one of the best shows, if not the best show on Netflix. This show is absolutely breath-taking. The way the writers and the actors portrayed the realism of being a teenager with actors who actually looked like teenagers and with struggles teens face and not making them superficial or perfect with answers to everything. Not only that, but may I mention the representation real quick? Mental health rep, POC rep, autism & ADHD rep, different social classes, LGBTQIA2+ rep, etc. The way that the characters grew and had such beautifully crafted stories and depth to them all and you could see that and having that all condensed into six 40-50 min episodes is so great. The portrayal of intimacy especially in a LGBTQ+ relationship that doesnt sexualize and instead shows actual love and doesn't hide or sugarcoat the oppression/ struggles they face trying to navigate a relationship like Wilhelm and Simon's is so needed and it was genuinely refreshing to see especially on such a big platform such as Netflix. This show is so amazing, and the directors and writers are so genius and I truly hope we can get another season (or I might cry)!
