I was really looking forward to this game release after such a long release delay to finally having the game perfected for the launch.
It started off great but it became obvious very quickly that you were going to have to win a lot of races to be able to buy any decent cars!
Then came the update (1.07), not only was the system offline for nearly two days meaning you could not actually play a game you had paid for (turns out it was behind an online internet firewall) but all the tracks, the car dealers and even your own garage were actually online only and cannot be accessed when the Polyphony servers are offline!
Once they finally got back online after a couple of days we finally realise what they had been messing around with behind the scenes when they broke the game, several of the tracks winnings had been reduced by tens of thousands of Credits making it much harder to build up your bank account to buy the cars you want and to top it off you still can't actually sell the cars like it says you can in the game title's original description of winning, buying and selling your way to the top but don't worry you can buy Credits from the PlayStation store with real money so that's great news. (£1.99 for 100,000 Credits, you used to get 90,000 for a particular race before it got "adjusted").
It is very disappointing for someone who has owned and played all of the GT franchise games right from the start, the game is visually stunning on a 4K monitor with HDMI 2.1 but pay no attention to the man behind the curtain trying to sell you seriously overpriced Credits to buy outrageously unaffordable and often undrivable cars.
The game needs to have some serious adjustments and less to do with monetisation to make it more enjoyable again.
The online races against other players from all over the world are great fun, just do your research about what cars you need or you may end up in Suzuki Swift racing against Toyota Supra's and still not losing though.
