I felt the first half of the movie was done beautifully and the second half was really rushed. It just doesn’t feel believe-able to me. It’s not the artistic fighting-style, but how quickly she ramps up her power (think Rey in new Star Wars). How does almost dying and letting your hair down unlock god-mode? Why does a baddie sacrifice themselves so easy for the heroine suddenly? Why is Jet Li so helpless after kicking so much a$$ two seconds ago? The answer... dramatic convenience. I want to suspend my disbelief and be all-in but I just can’t. I’m not going to compare it to the Disney movie. They are just simply different.
