The problem with the film is that it doesn't know when to stop being funny; there are way too many jokes and it barley has any emotional sences. Atleast with the third film it knows when to stop joking around and actually have serious and emotional moments. But with love and thunder comedy is just all over the place, even with sences that are supposed to be important there's a joke, the best part of the movie was probably its villain he actually has a reasonable motivation and he was very entertaining to watch.
