Excellent show, yet again, from the great Steven Knight. The soundtrack is on par with what he did with Peaky Blinders. (Iโll never forget when Black Sabbathโs War Pigs played in Season 5. Goose bumps.) With that said, this isnโt Peaky Blinders (nor is it Taboo). It is a completely different story, from a completely different era. Peaky Blinders was set in 1919-1934. House of Guinness is set in the late 1800s; 1868, to be exact. They just shouldnโt be compared, especially when there has only been one season thus far, and along with that, comes a whole new swath of characters to unwrap, and a rich adventure to unfold. As for myself, forever an admirer of Mr. Knightโs work, and I look forward to season 2. Bravo.
Additional nod: Pleased to see some familiar faces from Game of Thrones as well. I just missed seeing Cillian Murphyโฆ and Tom Hardy. ;)
