This is the feel good companion to the book. While the book obviously goes into more detail, a decent amount of the plot points were hit. What I really appreciated personally was the differences. The tie-in to the friendships and community near the end was nice to see, even if not faithful to the novel. The novel was the realist's view of events while the movie was the optimist's, yet still leaving the ending open to interpretation. Overall, so long as you don't expect the movie to be a retelling and treat it as it's own entity, 5 stars.
