Cautionary, though it never feels preachy. Gripping, despite it never feeling like it is racing. So many undertone messages being relayed. Also, the way it physically breaks to a drastically different filming style is visually intriguing and works very well. The cast is subtly brilliant. Natalie Portman specifically, performing all of her character’s songs gives and added surprise to a movie already containing some shocking elements. Overall this movie gives a very realistic peek into the realities of some very serious, unexpected, horrific situations that we hope to never experience firsthand. Very considerately constructed. Well done.
