Often great drama centers around a nation or culture undergoing a major change. Here we see a China where lower classes are starting to threaten nobility. This show captures this conflict superbly. The relationship between Awu and Xiao Qi is easy to envision as the same struggles between nobility, Awu, and lower class people who have risen by ability, Xiao Qi. The real bonuses are the superb acting and gorgeous production.
