The Doctor is supposed to be a strong character with thousands of years of experience not this insecure, pale imitation. Top that off with the farmer offering the police officer off his land in a gross corruption of the actual authority structure and I'm done with this rubbish. The very sad end of an era.

Don't think too hard or you'll notice the ridiculously implausible actions of most of the characters overlaid with contemporary wastefulness that breaks the immersion (eg space ship crash survivors burning resources). If you can turn your brain off it's ok for a few episodes
