Very sweet story. I was hooked from the first episode. I liked the smart writing and teen angst. Dash and Lily are destined to be together! I felt all the angst as they were each reading the other's entries. I found this so much more romantic than the movie "The Notebook".
Here are my concerns.
McSorleys is a bar. It's a pretty good one! If Lily is 17, how was she allowed in? How did the other carolers not think to stop her from drinking in a bar? How was Edgar able to drink in the bar as well? Wouldn't the owners of McSorleys have been concerned about how they are represented in this series as letting underage drinkers in?
All of Dash' friends appear to be well off. The party scene was over the top in terms of elegance. Is this realistic?
If season 2 comes along (and I hope it will), how are the writers going to steer the storyline so it isn't boring now that Lily and Dash are together? The surprise of them finally getting together happened at the end of the series.
i will watch it again and was glad to see Fred Savage directing many of the episodes. He has a great knack for portraying feelings and angst. Thanks for a GREAT series.
