I really want to like this album. The second half of Shadow of the Gods is great. I wish there was more of that. The bar was set high by Chemical Wedding. Maybe too high? Mandrake has not grabbed me, yet. Hoping it will, but I have a feeling I’m going to be left where I am. More than even Tyranny of Souls, this album misses Adrian’s input. Sigh.
