Unfortunately, whilst the first episode showed promise, it, like the titular submarine, has submerged me into the depths of boredom. Jones can't do anything but pull faces as her character hasn't got any decent lines. You'll recognise another actor who starred with her in Doctor Foster because he is playing exactly the same chap, same mannerisms and everything. The rest of the cast are just undeveloped characters trying to make us interested in espionage that involves the police, the Navy, MI5, Americans and Russian spies. I'm afraid I've cancelled my series record and wonder at this costly mistake the BBC has made. 🙄
