I am in LOVE with this movie! What I took from the situation with the family is that, any good parent will want what’s best for their child, and it’s always important to be open with your parents. Ember obviously LOVED working with glass! She of course wanted her father to be proud of her by taking over his shop but it wasn’t a good fit for her and her future, it wasn’t her passion. And when he later found out, he was absolutely accepting of that and just wanted to see his only daughter grow into a good life and to be happy after all the hardships they endured with moving, opening a little mom and pop shop, working hard, and adjusting to a new society while also dealing with racism fron the other elements.
Wade saw her passion and talent for glass, and he saw how special she was, and he mentioned how her light was so beautiful, even when she was vulnerable and sad, he was accepting of it all. He wanted her to be able to be honest with her parents and wanted her to always have that joy she had when creating glass, and he was so thoughtful, taking her to see the flower and showing her not to be scared and she could relax with him and be herself.
This movie made me laugh, made my heart swell, and made me cry, very touching, nice and easy paced, most movies these days are so bouncy and attention grabbing, this one is just like you stepping outside and taking in the beauty of the world, and peaceful with some fun bits of action here and there.
There are a few moments of covered language for jokes adults can appreciate if they watch the movie, they do seem a bit obvious so kids could catch onto them a bit easily, but otherwise, beautiful masterpiece. My new favorite movie. And Steal the Show is now on repeat for me!
