Exciting theory! Is this story a treasure map? Is this similar to Treasure's Trove?
First, this is a very interesting book which was originally written in Italian. Translation is pretty good as far as keeping the spirit of the book intact. It says that it's a horror story. And I guess there were a few strange and dark times through the book.
Perhaps I am getting jaded, but there were no points in which I was horrified or scared. The whole time I was asking myself what is going on in this city? What are causing these deaths? Why are the populace not reacting strongly?
Now for the real cool part!!
I think that this story is one of those stories that lead to a treasure!
Perhaps the strangeness of the story and the multitude of places named, numbers, and other code words, all add up to a treasure map! I have never been to Italy, but I almost feel like I could walk around the town and use this story as a guide.
There's something strange about the people, the statues, the addresses, and how the city is generally falling into disrepair.
I really have a feeling the author is hiding a treasure, and the clues are in the book. Wouldn't it be cool if this is true?!
Perhaps some Italians could walk around this city and maybe make some comments. I don't know if I'll ever be able to get there.
