This film was terrible! I’m sick of Hollywood trying to “Elizabeth Bennet” every Austen heroine. In this case Anne is supposed to be awkward and shy.
But even though this is said to be by the people around her, she on the movie is very much head strong and a “girlboss”
Not only did they make her character so shallow and loose all the book had, but it also felt like a cheap cash grab. They obviously tried to imitate a lot of Emmas 2020s charm but failed as the cinematography was not nearly as good.
It didn’t feel like someone put their heart and soul into this story but rather was trying to run off Bridgerton success.
And while brigerton is very modern it still follows the basic rules of period dramas.
This movie felt like a parody in the slang used and the way they “fleabag-ed” persuasion.
Loved the cast but the script and cinematography was terrible!!!
