Another reviewer, Adelaide McMillan, rated this film with 1-star and described it with the following:
"This film is, quite simply put, a nightmare for the viewer with blood pressure issues: mine rose steadily throughout to eventually park itself in the vicinity of stroke levels until the very last scene of the film, which came like a punch to the gut[...]"
I could not agree with this statement more, however, I liked the film.
There was nothing enjoyable about the film. It was difficult to watch. I certainly did not walk away from it any wiser, or feeling gratified in any sense really. All of this being said, there is a certain value to a film that does exactly what it sets out to accomplish.
Whatever the undefinable feelings I have about Uncut Gems are, I can say with some degree of confidence, that is exactly how the Sadfie Bros. wanted me to feel about their film.
