This movie was beyond amazing. It adds a sense of satire about the government, media, and society but it goes so well with realism because that satire accurately portrays what the world we live in, is like. Society will deny given facts and make a joke out of anything serious until they see/experience it for themselves. The government is negligent in its duty to protect its people/the world and tries to benefit out of times of crisis. Large companies, in this case, BASH, seek out opportunity/profit from this world-ending disaster. In the end and when it's too late, people who deny are proven wrong, negligent leaders are faced with the destruction of their planet, and innocent lives are taken. When everything could've gone right, it went wrong when people got greedy.
The whole cast; Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Jonah Hill, Rob Morgan, Meryl Steep, and so forth did a great job playing their role. Contrary to what many people have said that the actor's and actresses' potential were wasted, I truly think they played their role amazingly. In the face of this world-ending disaster, panic ensues and so does desperation, and I think these actors and actresses really displayed that in this movie. People found Jonah Hill's and Meryl Steep's characters to be revolting but that only means they did a great job playing their roles. And their characters are great depictions of how many people there are out there just like them. I think many critics fail to see that when they hate how unbearable their characters are in the movie.
