I had to do a bit of history research and watch some quick YouTube videos on how to play the game, due to the campaign mechanics being different to Medeival 2, to understand what was happening, but the game is actually pretty awsome. Medeival 3 but in China basically.

I got it during season 2 as it was half price on epic games, its actually quite good now, I have to say I really enjoy it. I can see what they were going for it's just a shame it came out unpolished as I think they would have got good reviews. Yeah their aren't that many maps, but the maps are very high quality, from someone who lives in the countryside I'd say the distances feel pretty real to me, it'd be even bigger in real life. The way the specialists work is kinda good as well. Makes it easy to pick what kinda soilder you want to play or fight as, for certain situations. BF 2042 is an arcade shooter, which tries to push realism. If you want realism, arma 3 is the game for you, arma is buggy as hell, it makes any battlefield look polished. Personally I prefer bf2042 to bf 4, but I never understood why people raved about bf 4.

I'm c. 25 hours in, the start was slow. Gonna be honest though, right now it's super good, as it's a build your own adventure game, the mission kinda guide your adventure. But the focus to me feels like exploration, basically the missions will be cut up in such a way, it encourages exploration between each main mission. The exploration is completely worth it so far, as especially in the higher level areas, very interesting events happen (side missions). The game does remind me of ghost of tushima as the exploration has a similar feeling.
