Slow burn, emotive, no ridiculous childish gadgets and characters to pump merchandise for…the writers are actually writing a character driven show with depth. The best part about this show is that so far, it could stand alone without the Star Wars saga. As a writer, I am pumped on what they are finally trying to do with this franchise. They should have started (post the originals) with this instead of episode I and spared us decades of rubbish writing that pandered to the parents of children wanting new ideas for Christmas gifts for their children. Top notch thus far. Where’s Jake Gyllenhaal with his camera? That’s a cameo I’d like to see.
