I've loved reading and watching Hindu Mythology stories ever since I was a kid, I've read virtually every book from the ACK comics. It's very saddening to see an epic like Ramayana absolutely ruined by this movie.
Ramayana is a story of the untethering love between Ram and Sita, which is only shown in this movie from the misplaced songs scattered throughout the movie. It's a story showing good over evil, how evil always ends up in defeat, but in this movie even Ravana was shown as a stronger character than Ram. Lakshman, who is a big part of the story, the selfless younger brother who followed his older brother to exile, virtually has no role in this film.
I guess the creators of this film didn't actually LEARN the story of Ramayana before making a 7 billion (INR) film on it! I hope the next generation doesn't learn from this movie and instead learns from shows such as Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana. My favorite from all the movies/ shows made about Ramayana.
