Maidaan is a period film based on a topic that, sometimes, seems like being related to a Jurassic-Age success story of India. The present generation needs to know the glorious past of Indian football. Unfortunately, football has never been treated with professional approach in this country and it has gradually faded away. The film has won the first point for its subject. However, sometimes, it appears to be over-dramatic. For that it sometimes drags too long and deviates from facts. It could have been enriched with more stills from actual events (with a tinge of AI help it could have been mixed well). Casting is excellent...Ajay Devgan plays the role of his life...kudos to him. In a nutshell, I think it is a must -watch movie. Every Indian, whether he or she loves the sport or not should watch it for at least once.

Average movie with numerous technical flaws....full of overacting.

Good film. But could have been better... don't know why the police officer paid no heed to doctor's remark to search in the forest. The mystery could have been solved had the policeman acted earlier!!! However, the cinematography is marvellous, screenplay is good...Acting is one of the strong points.
