Will make you wish it worked. It's a great concept, unfortunately it seems either the devs are incapable of fixing gamebreaking bugs, or they intentionally want the bugs there to make you want to spend IRL money to just buy the ship you want.
Once you reach a certain point, every single contract has a gamebreaking bug that prevents you from completing the mission. Enemies not spawning, enemies floating into space, the game not registering the enemy is dead, etc.
I spent 2 weeks grinding cargo missions (because it was the only thing that worked) to buy a mining ship. After refining the ore and placing the containers of refined ore in my ship, the cargo became "grid locked" and i could not take them out of the ship. The only fix for this was destroying my ship. After some research, this has been a problem for YEARS. I could spend all day writing about all the gamebreaking bugs I've encountered that have been an issue for YEARS.
The devs make it clear that they don't care, they refuse to fix simple dumb issues like the ones I've mentioned. But they promote "new content" like crazy. Refuse to fix bugs, make new ships and take people's money. That's the Star Citizen way. An absolute joke of a game that's pretty, but doesn't work.
People try and defend these issues by saying "the game is in alpha". The game has been in alpha since 2017. Literally every single game fixes issues almost instantly... except for star citizen. 10/10 do not recommend.
