60 yrs ago this would have been a Hitchcock movie. 40 yrs ago this would have been Cronenberg movie. 20 yrs ago this would have been an Aronevsky movie. Today it is a legit decendent of the 3. The storyline draws on age descrimination and Demi Moore, as an aging actress is perfectly able to emote "Elisabeth Sparkle" genuinely. Denis Quaid is equally smarmy and disgusting as a Hollywood prototype and I think deserves some recognition. The story drags at the end, but still worth the time. Plenty of nudity, but I actually think it is crucial to the theme.
