Listen to it. Enjoy 70s rock at its best. Phil Mogg had a great voice in those years, Michael Shenker joined the band during 1973 and its aggressive hard rock playing influenced the result. "Queen of the deep" is a great voyage and a long song. "Time on my hands" is a special one, a mix of folk and very soft rock, the solo is quite emotional by the way (beware sensitive people hah..! ) "lipstick traces" is an instrumental piece, a rendition of an older song (wich resembles to this just a bit) . M. Shenker did an outstanding version, the tones that he got for the lead guitar in this record are just unbelievable, props to the person in the soundboard because it was not easy to get that tone considering that Michael spoke just a bit of english in those days and told later he said to the sound engineer "the guitar has to sound like a finger without a bone.. quite a surreal description. It worked considering that those soft textures and tones came from a harsh Marshall plexi. This lp along with Force it (1975), No heavy petting (1976) Lights out (1977) ans specially Obssession( from 1978) are just amazing records. Give them a try. Great drumming by Andy Parker, nice vocals by Phil Mogg, Pete Way (rip) did a solid bass work always, and... M. Shenker, Great guitar riffs and leads.
