If this is supposed to be a romantic, sweet movie then it falls way short of that. I don't know what's worse, the factor that he left his mother at seventeen because she had a nervous breakdown after his brother died so she wasn't the best mom or the part where he tells the engaged woman that he loved her. The part where he forgives his father after he left him with his mother and never comes back to check on him is just awful. The only good part about this movie is the dog.
