Boring narrator. Nick has little stake in the plot. Fitzgerald uses too much description and exposition. This entire book is a telenovela. Wayy too much drama. The book rarely leans into the mystery aspect of Gatsby's real identity. Rather than in interesting reveal/twist, Fitzgerald just explains things. The 2013 movie is better because it presents the main events without filler and Nick is a more interesting character thanks to Toby Maguire.
