This is John Irving? Imagine my surprise as my beloved author totally flops with this Avenue of Mysteries story. Painful. The only word I can use to describe the 400+ pages of a very, very weird narrative. I can’t even summarize the plot, I am that confused... and I read every word. It was a tough read. That’s all.
