Finally, a movie that makes going to the movies a glorious TRIP & not an R.I.P.! No senseless, interstellar heroics, no ridiculous CGA, no wearisome superstars, no hyperbolic locales, no intergalactic stunts, no desperate displays of flesh ... just a pedestrian if somersaultingly, charming tale of two newly minted brides who have lost their ways home, that tugs & tugs at one's heartstrings, & returns one unerringly to the days when the world had a pulse & the unassuming hut was good enough to be home. Exquisite performances all around suspend disbelief & plant this Shakespearean comedy firmly & culturally in India. Nitanshi Goel delivers a spectacular diva debut & Chhaya Kadam & Ravi Kishan bring heft & gravitas with seasoned cameos that signal their own space, time & accolades. Kiran Rao, take that feminist bow & no, none of the dialogues are preachy or didactic. No harm done in spelling things out to dingbats! This is what people who don't perform in bikinis have to do, what to do. Now, fingers crossed for that Oscar!
