Picked a copy of this (on vinyl!) after their concert in Midland last December. Fantastic stuff - well produced and the LP itself is excellent quality. As for the trio, well, what can I say other than they are a delight to listen to. Their voices complement one another and blend perfectly. Terrific songwriters, too - personally I think "The Garland" should be considered a "new standard." Their version of "Silver Bells" is so good it gave me the chills. "That Old Christmas Moon" is smooth yet peppy and guaranteed to make you smile, and "You Don't Have To Be A Santa Claus" swings along effortlessly and sounds like something that would be played in a jazz lounge. "Song Of The Magi" is paints a vivid picture of conflict and innocent people caught up in it. Not your typical Christmas song, but so worthy of inclusion on this album. These are the standout songs for me, as the remaining songs are mostly Christmas "standards" but interpreted and delivered in a way that only the Good Lovelies could. I highly recommend this album and if you ever have the opportunity to see them live, you should not pass it up. Real, honest-to-goodness talent that deserves our attention and support.
