This is a fascinating collection of essays on some of the lesser-explored elements of Icelandic monastic culture in the Middle Ages. A few of the articles offer valuable charts and breakdowns of the manuscripts that have been matched to various monasteries (particularly Helgafell) and there is a list in the back of the book with all of the monasteries and nunneries catalogued onto a map of Iceland.
